Tips on How To Ease Your Fear and Take Control of Your Mind

This video on How To Ease Your FEAR  is one of 30 I recorded a little while ago as a challenge for myself to become more confident when speaking in front of a camera.

So how do you do fear?

We all have our own strategy, Some of us make a big bright picture of  a scenario that we don’t want to happen which results in uncomfortable sensations in your body that you label fear.  I have a particular way of talking to myself in a doubtful way, this particular voice try’s to stop me doing things, wants to keep me safe,  and I know this voice has a positive intention for me, and I thank the part and then I take control by changing the voice in some way.  I often slow the speed down, or I change the voice to sound like Mickey Mouse, sometimes I move the voice off into the distance.  This changes the sensation inside my body that allows me to remain calm instead of fearful.

You can do this too!

Or perhaps you are more consciously aware of a picture in your mind that reminds you that the thing you are thinking of doing might go wrong and you will fail.  If this is your strategy then you can change the picture inside your mind, it is your mind and you can take control, you can become aware of the picture, change the colour, alter the brightness, shrink the picture down or move it off into the distance.  The aim of doing all these things is to notice which action makes the biggest difference to how you feel.  So that you can begin to feel good, you can move the picture to a different position.

Spend some time noticing the pictures, images inside your mind,  your internal dialogue and how you are representing inside your mind.  The more aware you are of how you are making sense of your world on the inside, the more control you have over your state, resulting in more confidence and a calm feeling whatever is going on around you.

We all have challenges to face in life, bad things happen all the time, or maybe you just want to change your life, get a new job, relationship or enhance some area of your life.  You may want to do some public speaking, promote your business or just socialise with friends.

Follow these tips for a week and notice how you feel different.  and remember, fear is just False Evidence Appearing Real, it is just something you are conjuring up in your mind and you can change the way you feel!
