– when your thinking drops away and you know, thats clarity
Do you remember moments spending ages mulling something over?
Do you struggle making decisions and then, out of the blue know the answer?
I know I struggle at times making decisions, even having spent many years learning how the mind works. Even working on the structure of thought and more recently gaining a deeper understanding of the nature of thought, there are times when I just don’t see what is right in front of my eyes.
Experiencing feelings of frustration, judging others and myself, having strong opinions accumulated from a lifetime of experiences, all guide my decision making process. Influencing my journey through life as I interpret my circumstances through my own unconscious filters, just like every other human being on this planet. Which reminds me of this Anais Non Quote –
“we all see life not as it is, but as we are”
We all have ‘biases’ or blind spots, focussing on our thinking and missing what is in front of our eyes, and sometimes, when our mind clears, when our thoughts quieten down, we hear the soft flute of wisdom, the voice that is always there, but we miss due to all the noisy thinking of trying to figure things out, analysing through our intellectual mind, looking for the answer, the next step, which is always there in front of our eyes, if we could only just let go of our ego, our need to get it right, to make the right decision.
My insight:
An instant flash of inspiration, insight, new thought, something I had missed until it was clear.
Insight comes from new thought, feel connection to my loved ones no matter in the world I live, I forgot for a while, ( quite a few years), being lost in insecure thinking, old outdated beliefs about what it takes to be a mother, grandma, sister and friend. I lost sight of my own purpose, passion and reason for living and wanted to be the good girl I had craved since childhood.
We are always doing the best we can in each given moment. Life is a journey of ups and downs, and it’s impossible to miss out. Yes, we can miss loved ones, miss getting the job, the promotion, the relationship etc. But, we are always receiving an experience, even if it isn’t the one we want, and every experience is an opportunity for us all to learn, grown and evolve in our spiritual and personal development.
Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans
– John Lennon
What decision are you putting off?
Whats stopping you?
Like John Lennons quote above, the universe has a habit of creating our reality whilst we are busy thinking we are controlling our future.
Results of insecure thinking present all the time in my clinic, where clients book appointments for various ailments, headaches, back aches, stress, anxiety and depression.
All the physical symptoms start as a thought in the mind.
I remember in the 1990’s suffering from migraines. It seemed that every time I had a day off or was planning something nice, a migraine came on and ruined my plans. I wonder now, how much my thought process created my reality back then?
My personal life changed dramatically at the end of 1999. Not long after, the migraines ceased. coincidence?
I have no solid evidence but I do know that various research has been carried out and David Rakel mentions in his book The Compassionate Connection studies which reinforce the power of our mind has a great deal of power in healing our body.
What next?
I’m moving back to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. At least for the time being, with a plan to maybe move to Asia.
My conscious analytical thinking mind has decided that as my son and his lovely wife live in Thailand this would be a great place to live as it’s warm and a much shorter flight to the UK. But who knows what thoughts and ideas might pop up whilst I am making these plans.
So Whats next for you?
Are you stuck?
In a rut?
Feeling lost?
Lack direction?
No right, no wrong, no good, no bad.
All we have is this moment in time, the past is just a ghost in our mind. What happened in the past is just a snapshot, a memory made up through our senses. How we remember isn’t true, just a perception. And the future is a fantasy.
I have no idea what the future holds, and neither do you. So why not listen to the wisdom inside your heart, rather than the insecure noise of the head and do what you want to do now, not what you think you should do.
